1. First, you will need to create a directory for the program. You can name your new directory anything you wish, but may I suggest Light?
2. Next, you will need to unpack the files from the suitcase it comes in. The suitcase file is named LITEFITE.ZIP. This file contains all the program files needed to run the program. To unzip the archive you will need a copy of Pkware's unpacking tool (Pkunzip v2.04g) or greater.
3. If you are using Win 3.xx you will need to exit Windows and enter DOS, just as you would to play a computer game. Then simply type LIGHT at the prompt in the new directory where you unpacked the program. If you are using Win95 just unpack the program as detailed above (you do not need to exit into DOS), then click (START) and choose (RUN). When the dialog box appears choose (BROWSE) and go to the directory where you unzipped the file. Now you can choose either (INSTALL), which installs Light-Fight v3.3 on your computer. Or you can choose (LIGHT) to run the program directly. (Important) If you are using Win95 be sure to click the (FULL SCREEN) button when the opening screen appears, its the fourth (4th) button from the left on the very top menu bar. When you press it the screen will change and you will be in DOS.
4. If you are NOT using a mouse or are using another pointing device such as a touch pad, please follow the above directions to access DOS and the opening screen of Light-Fight. To use the top menu bar simply press (F-10). This will hi-lite the (Files) selection. Now press (ENTER) and a drop down dialog will appear with the selections available to you. To navigate to the remainder of the items on the menu bar, simply use your (LEFT) and (RIGHT) arrow keys.
5. To navigate within the program and have access to the hyperlinks which are used throughout, simply use your (TAB) key. For example, when you see a hyperlink it will be marked (hyperlink)* , touch the (TAB) key and the cursor will center itself under the asterick, now simply press (ENTER) to follow the link. To return to where you were, simply press the (ESCAPE) key.
6. To move up and down within the program use the (PAGE UP) and (PAGE DOWN) keys on your keyboard.
That's it....You 're now ready to use Light-Fight v3.3
